My youngest Friesian at four years old was just awarded his ster status by the
FPZV this year. This gelding is stunning at almost 17 hands and is still growing.
He is a gentle giant.
He was born on my farm in 2005. He is by Teade 392 out of the ster mare
Francisca v/d Mokkenburg. He has been a character since day one. At about a
week of age he demanded to be clipped at the same time as his mother. He just
stood there free in the stall getting his first shave.
Riker was shown in hand as a two year old and won his first national title that
year. As a three year old we kept him out of the show ring and concentrated on
getting him under saddle. It proved to be a good idea. He finished 2009 with four
national titles and is IFSHA's Reserve Champion Friesian in Hand.
This boy is truely just getting started. He shows great athletic ability and freedom
of movement. His natural balance will serve him well in his future show career.
I am very hopeful of a long and sucessful show career for this charismatic boy.
